The video presentations do an outstanding job of capturing the passion each recipient demonstrates to be selected and the circle is completed when the recipients share the “behind the scenes” people/places/experiences that drive them.

This year was especially meaningful because of the personal connection I felt to three of the honorees, Mary Bea Porter King, Rick Grayson and Mike Malaska.  All are exceptional human beings and most deserving. Each has remarkable skills and all delivered wonderful acceptance speeches.

It was a special moment for our delegation to be invited to sit in the area designated for Rick Grayson’s family. We were all bursting with pride as one of the Midwest Section’s own accepted the Junior Golf Leader of the Year award. Rick delivered an awesome speech that truly captured his commitment to Junior Golf and the game while challenging all of us to do more. I will never forget the excitement of Rick’s grandsons as they watched their “Papa” being honored.
